"Reminiscing AlBurkan" Sticker by Ali Mrad

‘Reminiscing Al Burkan’ is a work created out of the artist’s passion for Abu Dhabi city and pays homage to the now-demolished Volcano Fountain. Built in the early 80s, the fountain was located on the Abu Dhabi corniche and was a well-known tourist attraction. More than, it and an important meeting place for families and friends, igniting many friendships and conversations and becoming the backdrop of their much-loved photographs. The volcano lived out its life in blazing glory and then turned to ashes in 2004 as part of the expansion project of the Corniche. But the fire still rages on. The artist expresses uses the monument as a symbol of the love he feels for Abu Dhabi and wants the owner of this limited edition print to connect to it and narrate their own personal memory of the fountain.

Ali Mrad, a self-taught multidisciplinary Lebanese artist and Interior designer. Born and raised in Sharjah (1990) . His work is a sum of his journeys, personal experiences, dreams interpretations, and the nature with it’s living and silent creatures. His work is an aqua, comes in different forms and get influenced by the surroundings. It can be a photograph, or drawing or written. He shifted these translations into digital form, but deep down inside he prefers to touch and feel the texture of paper and the pressure of sharp pencil. Mrad is passionate about urbanism, sustainability, developing spaces and enhancing individual experiences stems from his appreciation of Japanese philosophies relating to spirituality and mindfulness. Being an interior designer helped him to understand how humans interact and react with space, lighting and colors. He always wonders how can he bring people together through space design and create a special experience.
