Studio Seminars
Led by artist Hana El-Sagini, this one-day intensive invites emerging artists working with clay into a more intentional relationship with the medium, treating it not only as a material but as a conceptual and architectural one.
The session moves through the full arc of making and presenting a work, from the initial process of conceptualization and material exploration through to questions of installation, presentation, and the architecture of space. Participants will develop their own framework for thinking through not only how a work is made but how it is displayed, communicated, and experienced within a space. The body is introduced as a generative starting point throughout, informing how each participant approaches both the making and the spatial logic of their work.
To encourage the continuity of this practice, each participant leaves with a 421 Artist-Kit to continue exploring clay as both a material and conceptual medium beyond the session.
