In November, Warehouse421 will present Trial and Error: A Design Symposium, which includes a program of talks, panels and workshops that audience members can attend. This is the first time the symposium takes place in Abu Dhabi and it will bring together a diverse group of designers and creatives from across the Arab-speaking region. Trial and Error builds on the continued partnership between Warehouse421 and 100/100 Best Arabic Posters which has been running since 2016, and includes a biannual poster design competition that culminates in a public-facing exhibition and catalog.

Join us for the Fall 2022 Exhibitions reception on Sunday, October 9 2022 at 5:00 pm, which will see the joint opening of the two major exhibitions ‘On Foraging: Food Knowledge and Environmental Imaginaries in the UAE’s Landscape’ and ‘Mohamed Khalid: Let me tell you something.’We look forward to presenting the second iteration of ‘On Foraging’ in our space after its successful first debut at the United Arab Emirates Pavilion in Expo 2020. This iteration of the exhibition expands on the conversations around food security that took place during Expo 2020, and includes new research and commissions. Curated by Faysal Tabbarah, Dima Srouji and Maitha Almazrooei, the exhibition features 14 artists whose works span painting, photography, installation, film, and archival research.‘Let me tell you something’ is the first institutional solo show of UAE-born artist Mohamed Khalid, and is the result of Warehouse421’s Artistic Development Exhibition Program, a capacity-building initiative that supports the work of early to mid-career creative practitioners through commissions, mentorship and guidance. We are pleased to see this major solo exhibition introduce the work of Mohamed Khalid to the wider UAE community. The exhibition is organized in partnership with The Institute for Emerging Art.
The opening evening includes artist and curator led tours and a talk with artist Mohamed Khalid and Sarah Daher, as well as a live DJ set performance by Eileen Vazquez.

Hosted at Warehouse421, this exhibition will showcase projects and artworks from the first-year MFA students of NYUAD inaugural class of 2023.
In Process : In Progress marks the midpoint of the inaugural cohort of the NYU Abu Dhabi Master of Fine Arts program. The presented pieces by artists Mahra AlFalahi, Liane Al Ghusain, Majd Alloush, Fabiola Chiminazzo, and Elizabeth Dorazio are the culmination of their first year of research and experimentation. In their studio and the classroom, they have surveyed and engaged with a wide array of interests: the environment, the notion of expansion, fictional creatures, landscapes, and movement in various forms.

Join us for the Fall 2022 Exhibitions reception on Sunday, October 9 2022 at 5:00 pm, which will see the joint opening of the two major exhibitions ‘On Foraging: Food Knowledge and Environmental Imaginaries in the UAE’s Landscape’ and ‘Mohamed Khalid: Let me tell you something.’We look forward to presenting the second iteration of ‘On Foraging’ in our space after its successful first debut at the United Arab Emirates Pavilion in Expo 2020. This iteration of the exhibition expands on the conversations around food security that took place during Expo 2020, and includes new research and commissions. Curated by Faysal Tabbarah, Dima Srouji and Maitha Almazrooei, the exhibition features 14 artists whose works span painting, photography, installation, film, and archival research.‘Let me tell you something’ is the first institutional solo show of UAE-born artist Mohamed Khalid, and is the result of Warehouse421’s Artistic Development Exhibition Program, a capacity-building initiative that supports the work of early to mid-career creative practitioners through commissions, mentorship and guidance. We are pleased to see this major solo exhibition introduce the work of Mohamed Khalid to the wider UAE community. The exhibition is organized in partnership with The Institute for Emerging Art.
The opening evening includes artist and curator led tours and a talk with artist Mohamed Khalid and Sarah Daher, as well as a live DJ set performance by Eileen Vazquez.

Speculative Links

Language is Migrant

This Abu Dhabi edition of Colomboscope’s Seventh festival, Language is Migrant, is presented in a collaboration between Warehouse421 and Colomboscope. It journeys from a poem-manifesto by Chilean artist and poet Cecilia Vicuña titled Language is Migrant. She writes:
"Words move from language to language, from culture to culture, from mouth to mouth. Our bodies are migrants; cells and bacteria are migrants too. Even galaxies migrate."
