Mina Zayed Pins by Sultan Al Ramahi
The opening of Warehouse421 in 2015 marked an interesting shift in the relationship of architecture to the environment and became an iconic landmark in the Mina Zayed area. Designed by BIG architects, the center continues to be an integral visual part of its environment, inspired by its context and history. Built in 1989. The bustling market served different and diverse communities in Abu Dhabi lost the battle against its redevelopment, and today awaits relocation to its home nearby. Tip: Come to the fish market at dawn, and you can catch the Dhows unloading their catch. This pin celebrates Abu Dhabi's iconic roundabout installations. The city was identifiable by endearingly kitsch depictions of nature and cultural artifacts in almost all roundabouts and junctions. Al Marash, one of the city's last remaining iconic installations, is in the Mina area; It is a depiction of a traditional vessel customarily used by hosts to sprinkle rosewater onto guests as a welcoming gesture.
