Greeting Card Perfume 

The making of fragrances is a living art in the Emiratis. These sachets are filled with an aroma passed down by the women in Mona Haddad’s family. During her internship at Lest We Forget, Mona created a series of prints documenting memories inspired by her family perfumes. A print and oral history from the series adorn these fragrant sachets.

Lest We Forget is an innovative archival and research initiative that documents Emirati vernacular cultural memory and generates contemporary responses through the use of artistic language. Lest We Forget collaborates with individuals, families and communities to create artistic books, exhibitions, films, animations, product designs and even an opera.
