Postcards Set by Lest We Forget

Rawdha Al Ketbi is an artist who enjoys exploring forgotten places. In Al Shahama area she discovered numerous national houses or Shaabiya still standing since the early days of the union. Rawdha became fascinated by their metal doors with patriotic falcon and dhow emblems and she decided to photograph them and create a series of postcards.

Lest We Forget is an innovative archival and research initiative that documents Emirati vernacular cultural memory and generates contemporary responses through the use of artistic language. Lest We Forget collaborates with individuals, families and communities to create artistic books, exhibitions, films, animations, product designs and even an opera.
