Night and Day

Through mixing different clay bodies with varied colours and textures, Lara has created two clay colour palettes Night and Day, each consisting of 4 shades from the lightest to the deepest. The result is a collection of mini vases and tea cups that accompany different moments and rituals of your day into the night, from the small teacups, to the lidded medium cups that keep your infusion or tea warm and the big matcha bowls.

Lara Assouad

Lara has over 25 years of experience working with clients in the Middle East and Gulf region including a 6-year tenure at Apple Middle East, as design creative director and active member of the leadership team. She is also a selected and celebrated artist for the Jameel Prize 4 honoring her Modular Arabic Typography project. A graphic designer by profession—specialising in bilingual branding and Arabic type design; and a maker by passion —designing and producing wood furniture, ceramics, hand bound books and leather hand-stitched bags, Lara obsesses over the details, the craftsmanship, the storytelling and the experience. She believes in the Bauhaus cross-disciplinary approach to design and the value of collaboration, partnership and teaching. Lara started making ceramics end of 2020 and is interested in exploring the rich textures and colors created by mixing different clay bodies.
