Mirrorigami by Ali Bahmani

Mirrorigami is an exploration of the captivating art of origami transformed into reflective mirror art installations. The series brings together traditional Persian mirror-works, known as "Aina-Kari," and the intricate craft of hand-folding metal sheets, resulting in contemporary interpretations of timeless designs.  This miniseries with variation on patterns is an attempt to make an artisan product for everyday life and can be used as a standing decoration or as an  object hanged on the wall.

Ali Bahmani is a multi-talented individual who excels as a User Experience Designer, Artist, and Educator.  With a deep affection for Origami, Ali's artistic journey revolves around the beautiful art of folding various materials, from delicate paper to sturdy metal. His work has graced exhibitions and workshops in Japan, Qatar, Iran, and the UAE. In 2022, Ali's series “Patterns & Shadows" earned him the Al-Futtaim Festival of Arts Prize in 2022. 

Ali's latest project, Mirrorigami, delves into the intricate craft of hand-folding metal sheets. Inspired by the fragility of Persian mirror-works, known as “Aina-Kari," he offers a contemporary interpretation, blending timeless designs with modern technology to explore their enduring beauty.
