We are excited to present the Filmmakers’ Suhoor: Micro-Films, a unique Ramadan program celebrating emerging cinematic voices. This special evening will feature a showcase of micro-films and works in progress, offering a glimpse into the creative journeys of up-and-coming filmmakers.
The evening will provide audiences with the opportunity to engage directly with the creators, with the possibility of a talk or discussion led by the filmmakers themselves, fostering dialogue and inspiration.
Open to ages 18 and above.
About the moderator:
Meral is a bilingual actress and director with vast production experience. Based in the UAE, she is the first and the only Iraqi female director there. Born and raised in Abu Dhabi, she discovered her passion for cinema over 10 years ago. Starting as a producer in 2012 in prominent films, she transitioned to acting in different accents and languages and later directing and still practicing both. She has collaborated with prominent entertainment giants and is an alumna of Arab Film Studios Imagenation.
Meral directed the pilot short film "Hidden History" and the talk show "Swalif with Miral," set to return as a podcast show on a bigger scale very soon. Her career highlights include producing a groundbreaking TV show with the Make-A-Wish Foundation UAE and Imagenation 30 episodes and The brother drama series 116 episodes. acting in films on Netflix and Nayla Al Khaja’s works Nancy Patton “The Mountain Boy” etc, and recognition in campaigns like Vatika’s "The Dream" and Canon Middle East Women Empowerment. She founded MeLe Films to create various projects from commercials to films especially her own projects from films to documentaries.
