No Straight Lines Blanket
Rivers wind, valleys dip, branches bend...
Mother Earth teaches us that there are no straight lines in nature and the same philosophy applies to our healing journeys.
We often expect our crossings to be straightforward when in fact they're full of twists and turns. We have heard this over and over again: healing is not linear. Healing is like an upward spiral, we process things cyclically like seasons, and each time it comes around, we peel back another layer and get closer to our personal elevation.
Nature shows us that in order to bloom we need to go through uncomfortable and painful situations and not resist the transformation. We need to trust the unfolding of our lives as we are always being led to our own spiritual awakening and ascension, even at times where it seems like we are getting lost on our way, trust that it is all part of the journey.
"No Straight Lines", is a weighted meditation blanket that can also be used as a cover-up in “savasana” during yoga or breathwork, as a regular home blanket, as couch decor, or as a bed throw.
It was conceived with wellness in mind. It is weighted in order to calm the fight-or-flight response and activate the parasympathetic nervous system. It was also designed with two different hooking systems for it to be worn over the shoulders during meditation or while standing. The visual was extracted from the pattern of a frangipani leaf, as a reverence to our greatest teacher.
While we thrive to have close to zero waste during production, the project was created with a sustainable ethos. Natural organic materials such as stonewashed linen and recycled cotton were used to create the blankets. They are carefully handmade by the seamstresses of SOS Children's Villages - an NGO that supports children, families, and refugees in Lebanon. The process of meticulously wrapping the cotton yarns in spiral around the ropes and then manually sewing them on the fabric is a meditational practice in itself that requires mindfulness and peace of mind.
The blanket comes Blue (light blanket), Beige (light blanket), and Green Paola Sakr An award-winning multidisciplinary designer from Lebanon.
